While local churches have a variery of ways of serving in the community - some activites are much broader than an individual congregation. Some of these charities are not church based, but are an expression of christian service within our communities.

Pilgrims Christian Bookshop in Reigate
Call in for an informal cup of tea and a chat ... you may even find some useful books for sale too !
Extensive remodelling of the front of the shop to improve disabled access has been scheduled for August 2008 - this is the precursor to a larger overhaul of the whole shop ... the plan is to keep the shop open as much as possible during this time.
This is definitely more than your average bookshop. It can be found at the end of the High Street on the right hand side. Contact them on 01737 247534.

There are many organisations advertising free debt advice that actually only offer an initial free consultation and then want you to sign up to a product that makes them money.
Totally free debt advice is available from people like the Citizens Advice Bureau, and other telephone or internet based services.
However, finding totally free, local, face to face help is much rarer.
